The Role

You’ll be involved in conducting primary research, developing a clear UX strategy for each project contributing to detailed requirements definition and the evaluation of how well our work meets user (and business) needs.

You will be central to our design process, so you’ll work closely with our project managers, visual designers and developers.

Research

 
• You will work closely with clients and relevant stakeholders to get to the heart of the project – why is it being undertaken, what should it achieve and for whom.
 
• You will work to understand the lives and needs of users through interviews, surveys, participant observation and other primary research activities – sharing data and insight with the rest of the team.

Strategy

 
• You will organise information from different sources into a clear conceptual model and experience strategy for our project, and you’ll understand how these concepts fit into a competitive landscape.
 
• You will map out an approach to measuring that the project delivers value for our client.

Design

 
• You will develop clear, communicative requirements products that capture the essence of the project so that we can start to prototype and test quickly.

Testing

 
• You will identify aspects of our work that can be made more satisfying or efficient by carrying out user testing, working with the rest of the team to make sure any findings are well understood and implemented.

Our Ideal Candidate

 
• We are looking for a person with a proven track record and deep user experience expertise
 
• You should have 3+ years UX experience and preferably a postgraduate degree in a related field (interaction design, HCI, anthropology, information science)
 
• We value people who have genuine empathy for what users and our clients need to achieve. We need people who care about designing things that solve problems, delight users and help our clients be more successful.
 
• We need you to be an exceptional communicator; in person, in writing and through sketching/drawing so that your work is heard and understood across a diverse project team.
 
• You should be a comfortable and experienced public speaker – we’re often asked to present work at key points of a project, train clients and talk about our work.
